A photo from a new series that I’m working on when I want a break from the Country Roads series. The warm, leathery browns of oak tree leaves always catch my eye in the winter. They hang on so long, and provide such visual pleasure, especially against the rich green backdrop of the pines.

I think one of the reasons I love autumn is for the colors – warm earth tones against the grees that hang on. Beautiful picture.
